LA RÉCOLTE LAUNCHES FINAL PHASES OF DEVELOPMENT

Category Retirement Village News

Block D will offer 42 independent living units on completion. These units will vary between 60 and 96m2

The development group's director, Jaco Steyn of Steyter Construction, says the clubhouse's original plan was amended to improve the design, size, layout and overall benefits of the building as well as incorporate beautiful mountain views. "The clubhouse, which will include a recreational dining room, ladies bar, beauty salon, braai facilities, exercise studio, lounge with fireplace, and library, is currently under construction. Our main focus is to give residents a place where they can socialise and relax. Our name La Récolte means 'The Harvest' in French, which is quite fitting as our residents are living their golden years and never have to ask for a day off again."

Jessica Kolver, property sales agent for the C4 Property Group, adds: "Sales have been good due to the development's excellent location, with Blocks A and B already sold out and occupied. The more than 120 residents say they enjoy their new homes and the simplicity of a lock-up and go lifestyle. Situated close to Tyger Valley Shopping Centre, Willowbridge, the Durbanville Winelands, acclaimed Welgemoed golf course, hospitals and clinics, the development also offers easy access to the N1 highway. Furthermore, it offers, secure access controlled and manned security and facilities, as well as luxurious finishes."

Kolver explains that Block C not only offers assisted living, but also frail care. "Our Care Centre, which will be managed by Van Biljon Nursing, will offer advanced facilities and 24-hour moderate to complete care. Be it a nurse coming around daily to check that you've taken your medication, monitoring your health, or staff cleaning your suite and making your bed - independent living with the required assistance. Furthermore, Van Biljon Nursing will manage both the assisted living suites and the Care Centre, with personalised and tailor-made health care options. It will offer great peace of mind to our residents as well as their families and friends," she says.

According to Steyn, most of their residents are healthy and active. "They've become friends and often plan outings together. Cape Town and surrounds have a high demand for secure lifestyle retirement options. Currently supply outstrips demand, which makes it an ideal investment for buyers who are not quite ready to downsize, but still want the security of knowing it's there sometime down the road."

Kolver continues that La Récolte offers excellent value for money. "Our prices are extremely competitive as are our rates. On top of it, our apartment sizes are larger than average. Due to the shortage of available units for rental in our area, our return on investment is excellent, especially for the smaller units. For those who are not quite ready to move in, we can almost guarantee that there will always be rental income from the unit. If one considers the capital growth, it promises to be a sound investment."

Each apartment boasts emergency nurse-call panic button, 24-hour security with CCTV cameras, electric fencing and manned access-controlled gates, DStv connectivity, Fibre Internet, optional homecare nursing, landscaped gardens, laundry facilities and affordable, stable levies. Another benefit is that each unit has a Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) telephone enabling residents to contact each other and the relevant services on site, free of charge.

Block C with its assisted living suites will sell for between R995 000 and R1.495 million and buyers can choose between pre-selected contemporary finishes. The developers will offer a special discount to investors buying more than five units, offering a tax advantage according to Section 13 sex of the Income Tax Act.

La Récolte offers three very important benefits - location, security and comfort. Located in an established and safe neighbourhood, it gives senior citizens a sought-after lifestyle and is the ideal retirement option for anyone over the age of 50. Our garden, house cleaning, food and nursing services offer peace of mind. You can still lead an active lifestyle with every comfort and convenience you need, whilst being close to city amenities and entertainment. As they say, 70 is the new 50."
