Phase two at La Récolte almost sold out
Category Retirement Village News
The second phase of the La Récolte Retirement Village in Stellenberg in Cape Town’s northern suburbs is 80% sold out and the assisted living units, the third phase of the development, is being launched this month.
Jessica Kolver of the C4 Property Group says: “Sales have been excellent due to the development’s location. Situated close to Tyger Valley Shopping Centre, Willowbridge, the Durbanville Winelands, Welgemoed golf course, hospitals and clinics, and easy access to the N1. attractions include a lock-up-and-go lifestyle, state-of-the-art security and facilities, as well as luxurious finishes.”
The development group’s director, Jaco Steyn of Steyter Construction, says that phase two includes Block B with 42 units, which will be completed early next year with occupation expected in February. Phase three will consist of a care centre and 54 assisted living suites, which will be a combination of studio and one-bedroome units, sized between 20m² and 42m². The clubhouse forming part of phase three will include a recreational dining room, a ladies bar, a beauty salon, braai facilities, an exercise studio and a reading lounge.”
Kolver says the assisted living apartments will offer moderate to complete care, from a nurse coming around daily to check that residents have taken their medication, monitoring their health, or staff cleaning their suites and making their beds.
The care centre will offer private and shared rooms, with specialised care for those who need it. Van Biljon Nursing will manage the assisted living suites and the care centre.
Phase one of La Récolte was completed in September 2017 and all units are occupied.
Steyn says that buyers are generally healthy and active, but are happy to know that healthcare options are available for them when they need it one day.
“There is strong demand for secure lifestyle retirement options. Currently supply outstrips demand, which makes it an ideal investment for buyers who are not quite ready to downsize, but still want the security of knowing the option is there sometime down the road.”
Each apartment has emergency nurse-call panic buttons, and 24-hour security facilities include CCTV cameras, electric fencing and manned access-controlled gates. Other features include DStv connectivity, fibre internet, optional homecare nursing, landscaped gardens, laundry facilities and affordable, stable levies. Another benefit is that each unit has a Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) telephone enabling residents to contact each other and the relevant services on site, free of charge.
The assisted living suites are priced between R895 000 and R1.495 million and buyers have a choice of pre-selected contemporary finishes. Block B’s studio, one and two bedroom apartments, including basement parking, are priced from R1.398m to R2.745m.
The development will also include Block D, which will have 36 units.
